Benjamin, director of the Chablis – Tonnerrois Tourist OfficeI first discovered the medieval village of Cravant and the story of its legendary battle during the Hundred Years' War, then I saw the canal, discreet, 100 meters from the town. When you walk along it, whether by bike, boat or on foot, you have the impression that time slows down. Nature carries you away and the water soothes you. What is fascinating is the connection it creates with its environment, the villages that observe it and the history it tells us. If you take a closer look, you discover a real heritage and a strong marker of our history with the epic of the timber trains to the capital. Today, I love walking with my family or running with friends, along the locks. You meet English, Belgian and Dutch visitors there. It is a bit of a meeting place in the end, a special place and that is what I like.
